A native of Southern California, Amanda has been drawing and painting for most of her life. Growing up in an artistic family, she knew from an early age that she wanted to be an artist. After receiving a BFA and Art History Degree from Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles, she worked in the museum field for over 10 years, including the J. Paul Getty Museum.
Amanda became an architectural illustrator in the '90s. Along with illustration, she continued to grow as a fine artist, painting primarily in watercolor. Her beautiful realistic watercolors garnered awards with the City of Newport Beach, Orange County Fine Arts and other local venues. Two commissioned paintings for the City of Costa Mesa hang in City Hall.
Several years ago, Amanda rediscovered her passion for painting in oils. Her excitement and commitment to create works of the highest quality lead to the decision on becoming a professional fine artist. Her strong interest in the Old Masters, and a love of still-life paintings by 19th Century French artists, has further inspired her. Amanda enjoys creating traditional still-life paintings that evoke an early American and European feel. With a love of the outdoors, she also paints landscape en Plein Air. A recent trip to Italy has added to her collection of paintings, bringing fresh excitement to her work.
